Nigerian-Canadian singer, Töme, is back with another project, exploring the theme of love all through the album titled Löv (stylization for love) calling for assistance from her fellow African singers like Skales (Nigerian), Yaba Buluku Boyz (Mozambique) and J-Sol (Nigerian-British).
Löv continues Töme’s mission to stay close to her roots despite being based in Canada by infusing elements of African productions all through the project. Afrobeat and Afro-fusion is the most used form of production instrumentals on Löv, Amapiano comes in a close second position, thanks to “Wait” and “Hold You” and “Mad?”; although being fluent in English and French, Töme used only English to spread the message on love, even involving the use of the Nigerian Pidgin on some songs.
Romantic love woven with passion and sacrifice are the main themes on Löv but self-love (“Mad?”) and love of the good life (“Good Life”, “Wait”) are also highlighted through Töme’s captivating well-layerd lyrics. 10 tracks reside in Löv which you would enjoy listening to.
