After years of waiting, Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four, is finally coming to the MCU.
Marvel Studios has stated that the project’s cast will include Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman. Along with Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
The casting news was announced on X/Twitter, along with a poster depicting the Fantastic Four celebrating Valentine’s Day together. It also features an image of Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm in his NASA astronaut uniform before he becomes The Thing. As well as the adorable robot H.E.R.B.I.E.
Aside from the casting announcement, the studio has pushed up the release dates for “The Fantastic Four.” It will now debut on July 25, 2025, whereas “Thunderbolts” will premiere on May 2, 2025.
Further, two other Marvel films will be released in 2025: “Captain America: Brave New World” in February and “Blade” in November. This is a drastic increase from 2024 with only Deadpool & Wolverine set to premiere from the studio.
The Fantastic Four has been in active development for a while now as part of the MCU’s Phase 5. Although it has suffered certain setbacks, it’s finally been confirmed that filming on the project will begin soon with Matt Shkman as director. Josh Friedman serves as writer, replacing Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer and reworking their original screenplay.
