Cristiano Ronaldo to be unveiled by Al-Nassr on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo will be formally introduced as an Al-Nassr player at an open training session in front of the club’s supporters at the team’s Mrsool Park in Riyadh.

On Friday, Ronaldo, 37, agreed to amicably end his contract with Manchester United after a string of disciplinary concerns at the club. Six weeks later, he signed a two-year agreement for $75 million annually with the Saudi Arabian franchise.

The former Sporting CP, Real Madrid, and Juventus attacker will play for Al-Nassr, who is seeking to win the Saudi Pro League for the first time since 2019, and will earn the highest salary in all of football.

According to sources who spoke with ESPN, Ronaldo will fly into Riyadh on Monday, receive a medical exam, and then be introduced at a press conference on Tuesday at 7 p.m. local time (11 a.m. ET).

Ronaldo will then train with the Al-Nassr team for the first time at Mrsool Park, a 25,000-seat facility.

The Saudi Pro League’s top team, Al-Nassr, is scheduled to host Al Taee on Thursday, but sources have told ESPN that Ronaldo won’t play in that match. He will probably make his club debut on January 14 at Al-Shabab in the Riyadh derby.
