Merry Men 3′ is the highest grossing Nollywood movie of the week at the Nigerian box office, with 33.4 million.
The film earned ₦18.6 million over its debut weekend. While also gaining an additional $14.8 million during the week (October 16–19, 2023). Thereby earning a total gross of ₦33.4 million since its premier on Saturday, October 13, 2023.
According to data by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), Merry Men 3 has overtaken Expendables 4 and now sits in the second spot on the Nigerian Box Office chart. The film had a seven-day gross of ₦14.6 million and a total gross of ₦97.9 million.
Something Like Gold, which is number four, is the next Nollywood movie on the chart with a seven-day gain of ₦11.5 million and a total gross of ₦45.1 million. It is followed by A Weekend to Forget, which is in the fifth spot with ₦6.2 million and a total gross of ₦44.1 million.
The sequel follows three of the merry men as they face Dafe (Chidi Mokeme), who seeks to exert revenge on the crew for leaving him behind in Russia during an old mission. He also believes that the crew has failed to punish evil and takes it upon himself to hunt down corrupt politicians and exact judgment.
