The Premier League can now certify that 3,039 players and club employees were tested for COVID-19 in two rounds between Monday, September 6 and Sunday, September 12.
There were three fresh positive tests among them.
The Premier League will continue to use lateral flow tests this season, as is the case in healthcare, and anyone who tests positive will be given a PCR test to confirm the result.
This aggregated data is provided by the Premier League for the sake of competition integrity and transparency.
The League will not reveal detailed information on clubs or people, and results will be made public on a weekly basis.
The Premier League will also continue to assess players twice a week.
They will, however, use lateral flow tests in their weekly testing this season, with only those who receive a positive result receiving a PCR test to confirm the result.
