Paramount+ has officially released the first look at its upcoming spin-off series of the “Yellowstone” franchise, tagged “1923.” The spin-off show, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as husband and wife Jacob and Cara Dutton, is set to follow a new generation of the Dutton family, who are no less plagued by violence.
The narrative of 1923 is likely to take a similar path to Yellowstone, as the drama follows the saga of the Dutton family as they strive for property and influence within the family. Furthermore, a story summary from Paramount+ states “that early twentieth century when pandemics, unprecedented droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plagued the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home,”.
According to Variety, Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the “Yellowstone” franchise, will also return to executive produce the limited series, which will also star Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton, Darren Mann as Jack Dutton, Michelle Randolph as Elizabeth Strafford, James Badge Dale as John Dutton Sr., Marley Shelton as Emma Dutton, Brian Geraghty as Zane Davis, Aminah Nieves as Teonna Rainwater, and Jerome Flynn as Banner Dutton.
