In the most shocking news of today, BOJ reveals Don Jazzy has failed to follow him back on Twitter. This is an amusing loose talk you might think to be untrue but BOJ backs it up with evidence.
BOJ, born Bolaji Odojukan is an unmissable figure in the Nigerian music industry, especially the Alté space. Don Jazzy, on the other hand, needs no further introduction. He is the “Don Baba” and a prolific gatekeeper of the Nigerian sound popularly tagged Afrobeats.
As music icons and industry heads, one would expect BOJ and Don Jazzy to have crossed paths in the physical world. Events, functions, and the like bring these acts together. BOJ himself acknowledged having been in the same room as Don Jazzy before. He said their meetings were by virtue of a mutual friend identified as Papa.
BOJ acknowledged Don Jazzy as one of his musical inspirations, hence, why he has been following him since 2018. He even sends a “How far?” DM to Jazzy every New Year but gets no reply. This worries BOJ a lot and he did not fail to air his grievance for all to hear.
In BOJ’s defense, he is not a stalker admirer or fan, rather all he desires is the stamp of approval on Don Jazzy’s end.
BOJ made this story known on his new Make E No Cause Yarns podcast with Ajebutter 22. The show is in promotion of volume three of their joint EP—Make E No Cause Fight 3—dropping on Nov. 17.
