DaBaby excels on Afrobeats-produced “Showing Off Her Body” assisted by Davido

The ‘Afrobeats to the world’ mantra is in full effect, overtaking one geopolitical zone at a time, so much it made the U.S rapper DaBaby align with Nigerian superstar Davido on the Shizzy Afrobeats-produced new single, Showing Off Her Body.
As the song’s title insinuates—Showing Off Her Body, DaBaby tries to hit at a very attractive lady whose figure is a sight to behold. But on getting the chance to talk with this beautiful endowed lady, he finds out she is taken as indicated by the ring on her finger, hence a little hiccup on his quest for a partner but that does not last long as he asks the lady to put him, “a player” on “on your friends”. Why? “So I could show her I’m the man or somehtin’”. Success found DaBaby in his quest for a partner as expressed by the pleasurable experience they both share, “She a good girl and she get it from her mommy (Mommy) /. . . / I love the way she bribe me”, he happily sings on the hook.
Davido validates DaBaby’s claims on the hook in his verse, appraising his partner for her body-twirling skills in the bedroom, even accrediting her as the inspiration for his verse. “Girl, gwan, gwan, bribe me all night long (Ooh, woah, woah, woah) / That bum made me right this song (Ooh, woah, woah, woah)”. Davido also subtly referenced finding comfort with this lady, “Why the f–k is your ex calling? Tryna disappear / I been chilling, my ex calling, tryna reappear”.
DaBaby excellently delivers his rap verse on Showing Off Her Body, flowing seamlessly on the mid-tempo instrumentals co-produced by Arieenati and Uzoharbour.
