The 25 September 2020 released For Broken Ears extended play (EP) by R&B/Soul-Afropop Nigerian singer, Tems, now sits on a lofty throne of its, as it becomes the first project by a Nigerian female act to amass 50 milllion Spotify streams.

For Broken Ears contained 7 distinct tracks including “Free Mind”, “The Key” and promotional lead single, “Damages”. It was Tems’ debut project, a bold one at that, in that it came out during a pandemic and contained no feature from industry friends or affiliates.
Even more impressive is the fact, For Broken Ears contain fewer songs compared to the other songs on the Top 10 most streamed projects by female acts from Nigeria, they include: “Celia” (3) by Tiwa Savage, “Mama Africa” (6) by Yemi Alade, Ayra Starr’s “19 & Dangerous” sitting comfortably on the eight spot.
Tems is in a league of her own! All date and statistics are from AlbumTalks (on Twitter).
