Following a year-long hiatus, Netflix is set to premiere the second season of its global hit, ‘The Squid Game’ later this year.
The Korean Netflix series instantly became a global phenomenon upon its release on the streaming platform in the summer of 2021. It dominated social media and skyrocketed it’s mostly Korean cast to global stardom. While also becoming the most streamed original series in Netflix’s history.
Now after a year-long break, Netflix has finally released a new teaser trailer and images of the upcoming season. The teaser trailer is a very short clip that shows Seong Gi-hun (the protagonist) dyed red at an airport. It picks up from the conclusion of season one, where Seong Gi-hun postponed his visit to his daughter in the United States and decided to stop those behind The Squid Game.
In the trailer, a voice threatens Gi-hun on the phone, saying, “You’ll regret your decision.” To which he replies, “I will find you, no matter what it takes.” Then he hangs up and walks out of the airport.
