Native Records frontman, ODUMODUBLVCK, delivers a new counterintuitive record titled MC OLUOMO. The song is named after the Lagos State Head of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo. It is also set to appear on EZIOKWU, ‘MODU’s upcoming mixtape.
MC OLUOMO carries an authoritative tone. One that yells “Don’t mess with me.” It is a testament to ODUMODUBLVCK defying the odds to get to his current phase in life. ODUMODUBLVCK’s aura on MC OLUOMO is that of taking what is his forcefully, and without regard for the general or cultural protocols.
The real MC Oluomo is frequently associated with doing the dirty underground works for the ruling APC party in Lagos. ODUMODUBLVCK is not scared to get physical too, if he deems so. “He go touch your R.I.C.O, MC Oluomo / Me, I don flip their script oh, MC Oluomo,” he sounds off regarding his ruggedness.
In the first and only verse in MC OLUOMO, ODUMODUBLVCK professs the gory state of affairs he is capable of activating if push comes to shove. He starts by declaring himself a winner regardless of the opponent he might encounter. “Ho-Ho-How many times did they try to come back like Kylian, but I kwack them down / Many men wan try mess with Messi on a big stag, oh, I call them clowns,” he relays, likening himself to Messi and the Argentine squad of the 2022 WC Final.
‘BLVK’s dealings are beyond arms and ammunitions for violent clashes. He proudly raps of dealing drugs like the current Nigerian president (alias Jagaban) is accused of. “Jagaban antics, run trap like Lagos, so the bando babies call on us,” he boasts with a spine-chilling note.
Usually, one would expect a criminal to move in cloak-and-dagger but ODUMODUBLVCK is not afraid of the law. Moreso, he alludes to evading all charges and getting away scot-free. “We don dodge your R.I.CO (Yes), MC Oluomo (Ayy),” ‘MODU points out.
