American pseudo-rapper and singer-songwriter, Don Toliver, features Nigerian megastar singer Wizkid in Slow Motion.
Slow Motion was teased on Don Toliver’s socials three days before its release. The snippet video is tagged Episode 5 of ‘Love Sick.’ Immediately it garnered online traction as viewers noticed the American musician having a good time with Wizkid in the studio, and it was projected to be one of the bangers to look out for in the now-released album.
In Slow Motion, Toliver rides the slow dark funk R&B instrumental as he beckons his girl to be more open-hearted with him by communicating her emotions. “Baby, tell me what you’re hopin’ / And leave your door wide open / Move it in slow motion (Motion, motion, motion),” Don pleads.
Don Toliver hints at not being ready for a serious relationship but for his girl, “I had to find a way,” he sings. He also admits to finding solace in the company of his girl. “Well, I was really upset / But, I got lost in love today / . . . / Even when upset, you lift me up on occasions,” he calmly croons.
In Wizkid’s verse, all the singer is concerned with is the amorous connection he has with his lover. “Only you, wey to make me, make me work all night / . . . / Touchin’ on your body, making you feel right / Hold you back and make you drop the drawers alright,” Wizkid serenades.
Slow Motion is the second time Don Toliver and Wizkid have appeared on the same track. The first time being ‘Special’, the penultimate track of the latter’s most recent album. Slow Motion is produced by BRYVN, who is also credited as a songwriter alongside the two vocalists.
The track Slow Motion is released with 15 other songs as part of Don Toliver’s third album titled Love Sick. Listen:
