In the show-biz world, flashiness and flaunting of belongings is not new. All sorts of watches, cars, houses and what have they. In all of these, one of the most priced possession these celebrities never fail to put out there is their precious personal relationship(s) with other glamorous and important personalities, because this not only goes to stamp their influence on the show-biz world; it goes to show how reliable they are and this only brings good out of them all as it can help in securing more gigs, endorsement and the likes.
You see celebrities never failing to put their family relationships in the media for onlookers to salivate and ruminate on. You see Kendall Jenner and synonymously link her with the Kardashians, you hear of Jaden and Willow Smith and immediately think of their very famous parents in Will and Jada Pinkett Smith or on local soil here, you hear DJ Enimoney released a new song and your mind immediately wanders to if his senior brother in the game Olamide got a feature on the track. That’s what the media can make us think because of how these individuals have portrayed themselves and their families in the media spotlight they enjoy.
Yet they are other celebrities who despite their closeness, similar looks, and close family tides, fans seem not to it as it is not being portrayed in the media in the same manner as other family relationships. Let’s consider a few:
Will Smith and Trey Smith:
To most people, the name Trey Smith might seem strange but don’t bother pondering on how Will and Trey Smith tops this list because in reality Trey (whose actual full name is Willard Carroll Smith III) is the son of very famous actor Will Smith and he happens to be the eldest of Will’s children. He was given birth to while Will Smith was with ex-wife Sheree Zampino; he happens to be the only child between the two of them.
Trey seems to be following in his father’s footsteps as he has also taken a career in acting and also a side hustle in music just like his father.
MadeinTYO and 24hrs:
MadeinTYO (pronounced individual as Made-in-Tokyo) or Tokyo for short happens to be the biological brother of fellow artiste 24hrs (pronounced as twenty-four hours). MadeinTYO is popularly known for his ad-lib “skr skr” and 24hrs have appeared on various songs together like “Champagne”, “Lil Bih” to mention a few; they also have a joint EP titled “24hrs in Tokyo”.
Apart from the fact both Malcolm Jamal Davis and Robert Dozier Davis III, that is, MadeinTYO and 24hrs respectively, share family tides and love for music, they also appear to be very short people in terms of height as older brother 24hrs stands at 5’5” just an inch taller than younger brother MadeinTYO who is 5’4” in height.
D Smoke and SiR:
D Smoke winner of premier Netflix rap series Rhythm + Flow is the brother of TDE signee SiR. They both share a striking resemblance and the dreadlocks they both rock doesn’t make finding a facial difference between both easier.
SiR gained major mainstream recognition through the feature of Kendrick Lamar on his single “Hair Down” off his latest album “Chasing Summer” in 2019.
D Smoke (although not signed to TDE) draws a lot of comparison with rapper Kendrick Lamar due to their similar vocal range, dexterity and of course their hardcore style of rap showing no mercy with each verse, punchline, hook, feature and even down to details like video directing and artwork for song and album.
Both have appeared on the same song like “Lights On”, “You Ain’t Ready” and a few others.
Kendrick Lamar and Nick Young:
Basketball player and NBA champion, Nick Young revealed in an interview in 2012 with Complex that Kendrick Lamar is his cousin, quoting him: “Kendrick is my cousin. Actually, I just found out through my dad. I knew him when he was little, but I hadn’t seen him in a while and now it’s like ‘Damn, I didn’t know that’s my cousin and I ain’t seen him in forever.’ That’s big time.”
Although the rapper Kendrick Lamar hasn’t affirmed it neither has he disputed the statement, so we can only assume it’s true. Nick Young, grew up in Southern California, Los Angeles to be precise, the same area as Kendrick Lamar in Compton, Southern California.
Nick Young had a noticeable presence on the Hip-Hop scene when he dated and even got engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea between 2013 and 2015.
