Teezee is not a stranger to experimenting wirh sounds and different genres as clearly shown by his adventures with the DRB Lasgidi group and the quite a number of solo features he has been able to secure for himself through the years. This Teezee does expeditiously on his 9-track debut album, Areested by Love, spanning a total of 26 minutes.
Straight out of the bag, Teezee hops on a Fuji-produced instrumental for “Free Me”, moving on, he places his vocals on the South African In-House Amapiano vibey wave with “Do Me Jeje” featuring UK-rapper Knucks. “Notin 2 Somtin” featuring versatile talented artiste Teni and upcoming act Midas the Jagaban and the 5th song “NOK’D” with DETO BLACK gravitate toward the Hip-Hop/Rap genre with a mixture of the alté sound. “Zac Chaos” experiments with distorted sound and fast-paced electronic production. More sounds found on the Arrested by Love are Afro-fusion (“Badi” with Davido), Dancehall (“Ancestors” with Pa Salieu), Afrobeat (“New Government” with Prettyboy D-O and Kofi Mole).
Teezee’s delivery throughout the album is a smooth, bold and endearing approach while keeping the lyrics minimalistic but effective for the most part of the Arrested by Love experience but going above and beyond on some few tracks.
With the perfect blend of sounds and genres, a quick but enjoyable listening experience and a stacked up list of featured artistes both home and abroad, Teezee guarantees his audience a smooth ride on the sonical journey of his debut album, Areested by Love.
Major props to Adey, Yinolu, GMK, Lucid, Gidiboy Benji, Geno Bambino and the rest of the producers who worked hard alongside in producing the very sonically diverse album, production wise. Joshua Faulkner, engineered & mastered, while Engine Earz mixed the entire project.
