Gal Gadot is developing Wonder Woman 3 at DC Studios.
The list of actors reprising their roles in the new DCU just got a little longer. Per a ComicBook.com article, Gal Gadot is reportedly developing a third “Wonder Woman” movie alongside DC Studios Co-CEOs, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The actress stated this while addressing questions about the third Wonder Woman movie in an interview with ComicBook.com. She said, “I love portraying Wonder Woman.” “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter, we’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3′ together.” This development is still unconfirmed, as neither Gunn nor Safran have made any confirmations. However, plans for Wonder Woman 3 were initially scrapped last December when Gunn and Safran became co-heads of DC Studios. This situation resulted in Patty Jenkins exiting the project, while Gal Gadot’s future as Wonder Woman remained uncertain.
Several fans speculated that the situation arose because Jenkins refused to reshape her Wonder Woman 3 script to fit into the new DC Universe. However, Jenkins refuted these claims in a Twitter post. She shared that she never walked away. She said: “I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding that there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”
ComicBook.com also asked Gadot about her opinion on the recent Superman casting. She replied: “I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great. So I’m happy for them. It’s such a huge take-on, and it’s such an exciting beginning for any actor, and I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride.”
Although it’s still unclear what will happen to Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe, one thing is certain: Gal Gadot will play a role in Wonder Woman’s future.
