Will Smith and Kevin Hart cross paths. The A-listers are planning for a reboot of the famous road comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The comedy is set to star in and co-produce Will Smith and Kelvin Hart — a retelling of the 1987 classic by John Hughes, which was originally directed by Steve Martin and John Candy. This reboot will see Hart and Smith playing two strangers who don’t really get along but need to journey together over a long distance to get home for the holidays through a confluence of circumstances and obstacles.
The film will serve as the feature-film debut for Aeysha Carr, the screenwriter best known for her work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and her forthcoming original Hulu movie, Woke. Smith’s most recent big-screen role was in Bad Boys for Life, which hit theaters in January, while Hart recently played for Quibi, Die Hart, in an original movie, and his film Fatherhood is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2021
