Netflix has published a new trailer for “Jagun Jagun” (The Warrior), its next Yoruba epic.

Jagun Jagun is a Yoruba fantasy adventure film set in an ancient country of kings and warriors. The film follows a bloodthirsty warlord who is threatened by the emergence of a young warrior seeking power and a woman’s love. The trailer for Jagun Jagun showcases a culturally rich Yoruba drama full of emotion, drama, and action. Netflix evidently spared no cost during the film’s month-long shoot in Nigeria’s Southwest area. As the trailer showcases the crew’s tremendous attention to detail and stunning set pieces.
Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, renowned in Nollywood for their storytelling ability, co-directed the film. The film stars several notable action-adventure stars from the English and Yoruba Nollywood categories. Its stellar cast includes Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Yekini Itele, Fathia Williams, Mr. Macaroni, Lateef Adedimeji, Bukunmi Oluwashina. Likewise, the film also features Muyiwa Ademola, Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Ademoye, Adebayo Salami and Yinka Quadri.
Jagun Jagun is another product of Netflix’s investment in the Nigerian market. It follows in the footsteps of other Nollywood Netflix original stories that have captivated fans worldwide. These productions include the remarkable “Ayinla” by Tunde Kelani, the Anthill co-produced “King of Thieves,” “Eleshin Oba” by Mo Abudu, Anikulapo” by Kunle Afolayan, and the recently released “Òrìṣà” by Kola Odunlade.
Jagun Jagun will premiere on Netflix on August 10, 2023, exclusively.
