CKay jumps on the Amapaino train with his new song Watawi, a song with the redolence of summer, dance and fun. CKay calls on his Nigerian colleague, Davido and help from the originators of the Amapiano sound, South African finest Focalistic and producer Abidoza.
On Watawi, CKay made sure to sound off on what is important to him presently which is chasing the bag, i.e, making money and not matchmaking with girls who wants to be his, even to the point of having his kids, “I’ve been on my P’s / I’ve been on my P’s / . . . / She wants to have my kids / But I don’t want to have kids right now”, CKay sings which leads to the girl questioning their motives for being together on the chorus with the popular line “What are we?”, stylized by CKay as “She tell me watawi / She tell me watawi”.
Davido and Focalistic are not newcomers to Amapiano and they showed once again why they make a great duo on songs by performing efficiently, bringing the fun and head bumping lyrics to aid CKay’s soft-spoken vocals on Watawi.
