Chelsea are reported to be heavily linked in a move for Bayern Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, in recent days, it was reported that Spanish giants have joined the race for the German Star, this means Chelsea will have to go head-to-head with Real Madrid for Havertz signature.
However, the Blues have been handed a boost in their bid for Havertz, because the German wants to move to the Premier League instead of Spain. According to the Sun, the Blues are leading the race to sign the attacker.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have been active in the transfer market before the summer. The Blues have already paid £37.5million to Ajax for Hakim Ziyech, and have agreed to buy Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for £53m. Also, the Blues have shown a major interest in Havertz which is being rivaled by Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Chelsea reportedly made a bid of £70m for the 20-year-old, which was rejected.
But they remain confident that they will get their target once the window eventually opens in the summer.
The Blues now believe the have the higher chances of landing the German with news that Havertz is leaning towards a move to the Premier League, according to The Sun.
Havertz is reportedly keen to finish out the Bundesliga with Leverkusen before considering his future.
