If last year, 2021, was Zinoleesky’s break-out year, then 2022 is his breakthrough year preparing him for his superstar year, come 2023. Zinoleesky is aware of his present God-given status and is overly thankful for these provisions from the Maker. This leads the Marlian Music act to render an act of thanks for such a good year that 2022 turned out to be for him, especially career-wise. His ultimate single for the year is titled “Personal”.
Zinoleesky has become one of the hotcakes in the Nigerian music industry and he is not oblivious to that fact, he sings with grace as to how easy living has become for him in 2022, “Just being myself, don’t take it personal / Life is easy do re mi fa so la”, the singer happily notes, adding, “Fun won ni gbedu to wo na oo / I’ll live to ride a Bentley to ba wun Olorun / Cos for dis side we no dey fo oo / E plenty gan”, recognising the God-factor while wishing for even more luxury and comfort in life.
“Only God fit award me / All I need is prayer from my daddy and mommy / Lola satiramoni / Me I go make am I won’t struggle for money”, Zinoleesky gratefully acknowledges in the hook for “Personal”, speaking on requiring only the support of Almighty God and his parents to prevail in life and achieve success in his music profession.
On other people’s opinions and internet trolls, Zinoleesky is well aware of them but pays no mind to whatever irrelevancy they have to say in spite of him. He says in the second verse, “All these people like to dey whine / They saying many shits online / But I don caution meself / Say I won’t torture meself”, ending the verse with the sound reassuring words: “I don block all me ears” as if telling the haters “continue wasting your time”.
The production of “Personal” is upbeat and of hip-hop origin with vocal chops that gives the song a climactic aura. Baby Beats did justice to the instrumentals.
