It’s not news that Marvel Studios is rebooting its hit Netflix series, Daredevil, with a new 18-episode series. However, the reboot, which is titled ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, has hit a rough patch.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios has fired all the writers and directors of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Filming on the project stopped in June because of the WGA strike. When the strike occured the production team had not even filmed half of the 18 episodes the show will have.
However, Kevin Feige and his team determined that the show did not work after reviewing what the production team already filmed. So they decided to fire the head scriptwriters, Chris Ord and Matt Corman. Along with the directors for the remaining episodes. Marvel now plans to revamp the show with new writers.
Vincent D’Onofrio Comments on the Overhaul
Further, Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk in “Daredevil: Born Again,” opposites Charlie Cox as Daredevil. Has reacted to the reports about the show undergoing a creative overhaul. He stated that it’s not actually a big deal, as such changes are common in the film and television industry.
The actor wrote on his official X page in response to a fan who commented that his original posts celebrating “Born Again” had “aged poorly” in light of recent events.
In his response D’Onofrio wrote “Unless you really know what’s going there’s a chance you could be wrong about this statement.” “We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of. Have some trust my friend, trust.”
“Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre-production, production and post.” D’Onofrio continued. “It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly I’d be worried if we were settling for less.”
