“I can do it, cheat on you, I can do it” Veeiye sings unremorsefully on the opener of first ever project, an ode to the EP’s title of being Young & Reckless. Veeiye does not shy away from expressing her emotions and desires toward the opposite gender, exuberanting her youthful bliss through 5 well written and sung records.
She goes solo on 3 of 5 tracks, tapping her good friend and housemate from last year’s BBN show, Laycon for “Enter My Head”, performing a lovely duet on their affinity for the respective opposite sex and how love struck they both are for that chosen one; LadiPoe brings his rap skills on “Forbidden Fruit”. Rap and R&B will always go hand-in-hand just like the perfect mix of gin and liquor and that Veeiye used to her utmost advantage.
Pheelz, Louddaaa, Eyes and Timothy King all score production credits on Young & Reckless while Veeiye acts as the primary songwriter, only to be assisted by her featured guests on their respective tracks.
