Uefa has initiated an investigation into an incident during the Euro 2024 draw where explicit sounds were inadvertently transmitted, creating a buzz and raising eyebrows. The untimely occurrence took place as the draw unfolded, with Switzerland being announced as part of Group A, along with Scotland, Hungary, and the host country, Germany.
This is not the first instance of such an incident disrupting a broadcast, as a similar situation unfolded on the BBC just prior to the FA Cup tie between Liverpool and Wolves in January. The individual identified as the prankster behind both incidents is none other than YouTube personality Daniel Jarvis. In a live stream on X (formerly Twitter), Jarvis took credit for triggering the explicit sounds using a mobile phone during the Euro 2024 draw, which was being streamed by the BBC from Hamburg, Germany.

During the broadcast, Giorgio Marchetti, the deputy general secretary of Uefa, tried to restore order, stating, “There is some noise here that… has now stopped. No noise anymore,” as the unexpected sounds were abruptly silenced.
When asked about the incident, England manager Gareth Southgate acknowledged vaguely hearing the disruptive noises while seated in the audience. He speculated that it might have been a prank but found it challenging to decipher the exact nature of the sounds.
