Tiwa Savage and Asake are “Loaded” on new song

Loaded

Afrobeats first-lady, Tiwa Savage, is back with a new street-hop banger, featuring 2022 poster boy Asake on a record produced by Asake’s staple producer, Magicsticks and the crystal clear dappered down visual directed the steamy hot TG Omori, another well-known affiliate of Asake. Loaded is the song’s title, a braggadocio show of both acts’ material possessions and street validation.

Asake kick starts Loaded with a sound warning to broke people, reminding them not to come close as they are not capable of standing the bills he is charged after balling in the nightclub, “Them never see nothing / Them go see something / When I enter for the club, you go turn victim”; he also takes pride in being the ladies man, “All the kele for my hood, they wan touch my thing / Kilode? Wo fe pami, awon ala koba / . . . / Omo yen sare wole moti bon to / . . . / Aye kan lo, aye kon bo / . . . Omo kan lo, omo kan bo”; Asake is aware of his high-fashion lifestyle, always ready to write a few bars on it, to oppress his enemies who cannot afford the designers, he raps “Supreme, mo sa Gucci gang til’ Louis Vuitt’in / . . . / Mr. Money rora, a bija bija mon kora / Ja better run away, fit cover / Ma l’owa if you no get insurance”.

Tiwa Savage takes centre stage after Asake’s impressive verse and hook. Straight off the bat, Tiwa Savage issues a warning to anyone who thinks he/she can intimidate her into being his/her subject, matching the warning with her leaked sex tape, Tiwa boldly declared it did not affect whatsoever on her mental health, she sings “They wan jot my thing, them go learn lesson / Opolopo, I dey carry first (T’oba she bala, bala, dem go come lesson) / Emi dagboru (Omo na bouncing) / Awon blogger blogger t’ofe fimi gba star / Sex tape o’le baye mi je (Nibo?)”, interpolating Black Sherif’s “Kwaku the Traveller” lyrics, she asks with authority “Igbadun kekere yen (Na who never f–k, hands in the air?)”. The remainder of her verse is a striking reminder of how much wealth she has amassed and her street credibility, “Tiwa l’omo t’on so, t’on so (T’on so) / Today Germany, tomorrow na London (London) / Money too long, e no get bus stop (Bus stop) / Won ni kin rora, kin rora, kin rora (O dorime) / They wan use dorime finish me for here (For Orile) / Them no dey use me play when I enter Shitta oh”.

The pre-chorus contains impressive wordplay and name-dropping from the fictional Pinocchio to Nigerian music star Kcee and his mega-hit “Limpopo”, “Omo oba, I dey for you, if you dey for me / Jaiye beni je lotto / Ye ma paro, Pinocchio / Bi Limpopo, Kcee and JoJo”, Asake and Tiwa Savage both sing.

TG Omori always performs! Loaded music video is not an exception as he delivers yet another quality lyrics-to-visuals interpretation magnificently, using angles and on-screen actors to portray his message in 4K HD format. Watch the video here:
