Everyone’s favorite turtles are heading to the big screen once again. Nickelodeon studios and Paramount Pictures have officially unveiled the first trailer and a brand-new poster for their upcoming animated feature titled, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. See the new poster below.
The upcoming film was undoubtedly influenced by recent critical successes such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Mitchells vs. The Machines, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. As the trailer showcases, a similarly unique CGI animation style, making it Nickelodeon’s first theatrically CG-animated movie.
Further, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will be the Turtle brothers second fully animated big-screen outing. The first was 2007’s TMNT, which grossed 95.6 million USD globally. Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have also provided a brief synopsis of the animated film.
“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts,” the synopsis reads. “Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate. But they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
What’s more, Seth Rogan also announced the film’s star-studded voice cast, which includes Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael).
Additional cast members include: Jackie Chan as Master Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Seth Rogen as Bebop, John Cena as Rocksteady. Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly. Hatasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman. Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, along with Ramsay McBean and Josh Fagen. Serve as executive producers on the project, which is a presentation of their company, Point Grey Productions. In addition, the film is directed by Jeff Rowe with Kyle Spears co-directing.
Based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on August 4.
