Ronaldo: Man Utd taking “necessary steps”

In response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments when he said he was “betrayed by the club,” Manchester United claims they are taking “necessary steps.”

The Portuguese striker claimed to have “no regard” for the team’s coach, Erik ten Hag, and claimed he is being ejected from Old Trafford.

According to a club statement, “Manchester United has this morning begun proper procedures in reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview.”

The club has stated that it won’t make any further comments until “this process is over”.

The future of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United is uncertain following a lengthy interview with Piers Morgan for Talk TV.

The 37-year-old Ronaldo will lead Portugal in their opening Group H match against Ghana on Thursday at the World Cup in Qatar.

He hasn’t played since leading United to a 3-1 loss at Aston Villa on November 6 due to an unidentified ailment.

Last month, Ten Hag benched Ronaldo for the Premier League match against Chelsea because he had refused to enter the game as a substitute against Tottenham three days prior.
