Africa’s new-generation trailblazer, Rema, keeps showing why is the “HOV” among his peers. With Rema, it is always accolades upon accolades; the new heights attained never seem to end. His latest feat? A Gold-eligible status for his debut album—Rave & Roses

Rave & Roses came out on 25 March 2022 with promotional singles ‘Soundgasm,’ ‘FYN,’ and ‘Calm Down’ setting the tone. On release, ‘Dirty,’ ‘Addicted,’ and ‘Wine’ caught fire and grew to become fans favourite. But it would be ‘Calm Down’ that skyrocketed the magnificent sales of Rave & Roses worldwide, USA included.

The 500K unit sales of Rema’s debut is nothing short of a historic feat! First, Rave & Roses becomes the first African debut album to be Gold-eligible in the United States of America. Secondly, and probably the most interesting, Rave & Roses is the fastest African album to achieve Gold status in the U.S.; it took just 1 year and 4 months. Even more impressive, Rema is now only the second African act to have his LP receive such honours. He stands on that lofty podium alongside Wizkid whose Made in Lagos (2020) got Gold-certified last year in August.

Pending the RIAA’s official Gold certification of Rave & Roses, Rema is a star and it is a congratulation to him and his team from us at Media Naija
