Rema Signs with the Jordan Brand; First African Artiste To Ink the Deal

Rema x Jordan 23

The record-breaking week for Rema just became more grand. Divine Ikubor, 23, is now an official ambassador of the Jordan brand. A feat no other African act has acclaimed until now.

Jordan or Air Jordan which came into life via the iconic basketball superstar, Michael Jordan, was established in September 1997. Twenty-six years later, the sub-brand of Nike houses several reputable sportsmen including Chris Paul, Jayson Tatum, and Zion Williamson of the NBA. In the football world, Neymar was the first star to embrace the Jordan brand in 2016 while PSG is sponsored by Jordan.

Now, the young African star, Rema has announced his official ambassador role of the Jordan brand. Doing so makes him the first African act (entertainment or sport) to sign with Jordan aka Jumpman.

“I’m now with the Jordan family at age 23, the irony,” he captions. In the post, Rema is spotted wearing a Jumpman sweater. The correlating video shows him with the Jordan family and paying homage to Michael Jordan and the late Virgil Abloh.

2023 has been nice to Rema. Congratulations to him!
