A new song gets released today and everyone starts streaming and downloading endlessly, very few actually take cognizance of the production and technical dexterity that goes into bringing that music to life, Producers are unsung Heroes that have been consistently blessing our earbuds before Batman started wearing a cape. No music is complete without the magic fingers of a producer. Here’s a list of producers who know their onions.
1- Alli (telz) Odunayo, popularly known as Funkula, which most of us pronounce as fun-killer/ pongila, the Spaceship collective producer came into lime light under Chief rocket boy- Burna boy. Telz has been producing for over 3 years. He flexed his muscle on tracks like, “Wetin day sup” ,“Naughty by nature”, “Wonderful”, Patorankings “Abule” and “Onyeka” by Burna boy. Telz is a Grammy award winning producer.
2- P-Prime, the 19 year old is a talented producer that was and is still responsible for bursting our speakers. He’s running riot and is steadily giving us jams upon jams. He attained new heights producing 70% of the songs on Olamides album- Carpe diem; songs like- “Loading”, “Infinity” , “Eru” were produced by p-prime. The young producer also did magic on Teni’s album, producing 5 records. He’s also responsible for”Unripe pawpaw” , “Better better” by Jamopyper and “Southy love” by Peruzzi and Fire boy.
3- Yung Willis, I’m sure most of you didn’t know that this dude turned down a job with ECOWAS in 2018, shocking yeah? Willis is a top notch producer, he came into lime light when he linked up with rapper, Falz, he produced “Sweet boy”and “Talk”. The producer went ahead to cause more musical damage with the amapiano infused tracks – “High way” and “Squander”, those are 2 fire tracks. Undoubtedly, Willis sure knows his onions when it comes to producing.
4- Igbinoba Osaze, popularly known as “Ozedikus nwanne “ , the tag has become synonymous with Rema’s “another banger” declaration. The producer struck gold teaming with rema to make “Dumebi”, since then he has risen through the ranks. He Is affiliated with Donjazzys record label Mavins, He produced- “Woman” , “Dumebi” “Iron man” all by Rema, “Soft” by Crayon and “Lemme know” by Ladipoe. He was nominated as producer of the year along side, Phantom, Spellz, killertunes and kel-p in the 2019 headies awards. He’s also a big dog in the production kernel.
5- Rexxie, Rexxie is unarguably the go to producer for street sounds. He has a Strong affiliation with “Marlian music”and the Infectious zanku wave, his tag” yo Rexxie pon dis one” has been strongly infused in many Zanku sounds, his price went up the moment he produced “Able God” for chinko Ekun, ever since that track it’s been a bed of roses for Rexxie. He produced ,”Jogor”, ”Japa” , “KPK” , “Soapy” , “Tesumole” , “Oppor”and the controversial “Am I a yahoo boy” by Naira Marley and Zlatan. He is also a Grammy winning producer. He produced bebo on Burnas Twice as tall album.
