The Premier League’s weekend action saw champions Liverpool move top of the division with a hard-fought win over West Ham, with previous league leaders Everton suffering a second successive defeat at Newcastle.
Elsewhere Arsenal ended Manchester United’s recent momentum by winning at Old Trafford for the first time in 14 years, whilst a vibrant Chelsea eased past Burney with a commanding three-nil victory and Southampton survived a late Aston Villa fightback to edge a seven-goal thriller.

• 2 – Leeds United have lost back-to-back home league games for the first time under Marcelo Bielsa, last doing so in March 2018 under Paul Heckingbottom.
• 1 – Leicester City have made their joint best-ever start to a top-flight campaign (after seven games), matching their tally from 2000-01 (15 points).
• 2 – Aleksandar Mitrovic registered two assists in a league game for the first time ever in English football.
• 16 – Pascal Groß has now assisted 16 Premier League goals for Brighton, double that of any other player for the Seagulls.
• 14 – Harry Kane has been directly involved in 14 goals (six goals & eight assists) after only seven league games this season, the most of any player in Europe’s top five divisions (Lewandowksi, 13).
• 7 – Manchester United have taken just seven points from their six Premier League games this season, their lowest tally at this stage since David Moyes’ short stint at the helm in 2013-14 (7); a campaign in which they went on to finish seventh.
• 1 – Arsenal have won away at a “big six” side in the Premier League for the first time since a 2-0 win against Manchester City in January 2015, ending their 29-game winless run (D10 L19).
• 2 – Carlo Ancelotti has lost consecutive league matches for the first time since September 2014 with Real Madrid in LaLiga – 2-4 vs Real Sociedad and 1-2 vs Atlético de Madrid.
• 5 – Callum Wilson has scored five goals in seven Premier League games for Newcastle, as many as he scored in his final 30 appearances in the competition for Bournemouth.
