Gameweek resumed from the International break with a pulsating Merseyside derby which finished all square with a 2-2 scoreline. Jannik Vestergaard’s scored a late goal to snatch a point for Saints against Chelsea.
Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game in what was supposed to be the match of the weekend with ManCity narrowly beating Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
Three late goals from Bruno Fernandes, Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford gave Man Utd a comfortable win at St James’ Park with the game ending on a 1-4 scoreline. Elsewhere, Aston Villa continued with their impressive start to the season as they beat Leicester by one goal at the King Power stadium.

• 1930-31 – Aston Villa have won their opening four games of a league season for the first time since the 1930-31 campaign, when they went on to finish 2nd in the top-flight.
• 3 – West Ham are the first team in Premier League history to avoid defeat in a game having been 0-3 down as late as the 81st minute.
• 87 – Tottenham Hotspur had won each of their previous 87 Premier League matches when leading by at least three goals, last dropping points from this position in a 3-5 defeat against Man Utd in September 2001.
• 28 – Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have combined for 28 Premier League goals, the fourth-most of any duo in Premier League history and the most of any current duo.
• 6 – Kai Havertz is the sixth different German player to score a Premier League goal for Chelsea (also Ballack, Marin, Schürrle, Rüdiger and Werner) – no side has more in the competition (Arsenal and Man City also 6).
• 7 – Since the start of the 2012-13 season, Brighton’s Lewis Dunk has received seven league red cards – no player has been given more in England’s top four tiers in this time. The first of those seven also came at Selhurst Park.
• 7 – Wilfried Zaha has scored more goals against Brighton in all competitions than he has versus any other opponent (7).
• 368 – Billy Sharp’s goal from the penalty spot was Sheffield United’s first goal in 368 minutes of Premier League action at Bramall Lane since David McGoldrick scored their third against Chelsea in July.
• 2012 – Aleksandar Mitrovic is the first player to both miss a penalty and give away a penalty in the same Premier League game since Mikel Arteta for Arsenal in November 2012 – which was against Fulham.
• 10 – Manchester United enjoyed their 10th comeback win against Newcastle in the Premier League, the most by any side against a single opponent in the competition.
• 19 – Bruno Fernandes has been directly involved in 19 goals in his 18 Premier League appearances for Manchester United (11 goals, 8 assists), scoring in each of his last three games.
• 2 – Newcastle have won two of their last three Premier League home games against Man Utd (L1), more than they had in their previous 13 against them at St James’ Park (W1 D3 L9).
