The Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood was a hive of activity on Sunday night. As Hollywood turned up for the 95th Oscars award ceremony, It was truly a night to remember as nominees across all 23 Oscar categories were awarded with the iconic Oscar statuettes.
Over the past few months anticipation for the Oscar’s has been steadily rising amongst industry members and fans alike. Particularly due to the immense popularity of A24’s “Everything Everywhere All at Once” which was considered a major frontrunner for the Best Picture title.
Further, the film ultimately won seven awards in major categories, including best picture, best director, best original screenplay as well as three acting categories. Therefore making it the most awarded film in Oscar history. Likewise, German-language war epic All Quiet on the Western Front, clinched the second most wins with four awards including the best international feature film award.
This year’s Oscar also had the highest number of Asian artists nominated in the acting categories. Including, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star’s Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu. The night saw Yeoh win the highly coveted best actress in a motion picture award while her co-star Ke Huy Quan clinched the award for best supporting actor.
