Disney+ has unveiled a new trailer for its highly anticipated YA show, Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
The new trailer offers fans a new look at the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, which is an adaptation of the popular novels by Rick Riordan of the same name. Following the 2011 film, this will be the second adaptation of Rick’s popular books. Unlike the 2011 film, however, Rick Riordan is closely involved in the series’ creation and ensuring that it stays loyal to the source material. One example is that the characters are the appropriate age and are not teens like they were in the 2011 film.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows 12-year-old modern demigod Percy Jackson as he comes to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt; with his friend’s help, Percy must restore order to Olympus.

The trailer starts off with Percy as a child, then goes on to showcase his life at a regular school before revealing his introduction to Camp Half-Blood. It also offers us a closer glimpse at Percy’s quest with Grover and Annabeth as they attempt to recover Zeus’s lightning bolt, including a glimpse of Hermes (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and several mythological creatures.

The series will debut on Disney Plus On December 20, with it’s first two episodes and then release new episodes weekly.
