Most Expensive Transfers in Europe This Summer

The summer transfer window officially closed last evening, clubs across the continent made effort to sign their targets before the deadline. Clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal left it late to get their targets, clubs like Barcelona had more players leaving the Camp Nou than incomings.

Chelsea splashed more than £200m over the course of the summer. Pep Guardiola’Manchester City spent a mammoth £62m on Benfica defender Ruben Dias.
PL champions, Liverpool added Bayern MunichThiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota from Wolves to their folds.

They were 105 new additions to the Premier League in Total, with Wolves, Aston Villa, and Leeds United among the big spenders.

Nathan Ake joined Manchester City from Bournemouth after the cherries were relegated last season. The former Chelsea defender was signed in a deal worth £41M. Also, in Pep Guardiola’s quest to fix City defensive problem, Manchester city completed the signing of Ruben Dias.

 

After being linked with Partey for the entire summer, Arsenal pulled up a late deal to get their target on the final day of the transfer window by triggering his £45m release clause. No doubts, the Ghanaian will be a perfect addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Chelsea were definitely the team with the most transfer deals this summer, they Blues made a move for Bayern Leverkusen Kai Havertz in a deal worth €85M, Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €45m. Ben Chilwell also made the move from the Foxes to Stamford Bridge for £45m.

 

Barcelona signed Serbian Pjanic in a £54m deal from Italian champions Juventus in June, with the midfielder signing a four-year contract with Barcelona.

 

Nigerian International Victor Osimhen was one of the hottest transfer targets in Europe this summer, and it was Napoli who eventually won the race to sign the alluring forward. The 21-year-old scored 18 goals in all competitions for Lille before the French season ended.
