Dream Empire frontrunner, Majeeed, and the unquestionable queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage, join forces on their first single of 2023—‘Gbese.’ The jam is produced by the renowned Masterkraft

Gbese (a Yoruba word) translates to ‘problem’ in the English language. Like every “die for you” themed love song, Majeeed, and Tiwa Savage are not afraid to risk it all for their lovers.

Tiwa Savage reassures her lover with the opening lines “I got love for you / Spend all time with you / Anytime that you want, I’ll come through,” making it known to her boo she is available 24/7 to cater to his endearment needs.

Majeeed takes on the chorus, dutifully singing about wanting to do anything to please his lover, even if it requires him falling into problems or incurring debt. “Baby baby ahh baby baby / Mo le tori e je gbese,” the singer lets it out unprovoked.

Immediately after the mouthful hook comes the second verse in Gbese; Majeeed just like Tiwa’s opener sends words of reassurance to his babe. “And you know I love you so / Omo you dey give me ginger oh / You dey burst my speakers oh / My attention e dun dey go go go,” he proudly declares.

Tiwa Savage takes turns singing the bridge and chorus as Gbese fades off. Masterkraft melodically incorporates sounds from the flute, whistle, and log drums in the Afrobeats production of Gbese, giving it a lively feel.
