Jack Harlow is Set to Make his Acting Debut in Hulu’s “White Men Can’t Jump” Remake

Grammy-nominated rapper Jack Harlow is set to make his feature film debut. The rapper will star in Hulu’s upcoming “White Men Can’t Jump” remake.

Based on the original 1992 film “White Men Can’t Jump,” starring Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson. Hulu’s remake follows two ballers who hold opposing opinions. Each is juggling tenuous relationships, financial pressures, and serious internal struggles. As they discover that they might have more in common than they imagined possible.

Written by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hal with Charles Kidd II, also known as Calmatic, directing, The remake is described as a “modern remix” of the 1992 original.

Harlow reflected on his acting journey during an interview with Zane Lowe. “I put the time in with the script,” he said. “And tried to be egoless during the audition, take notes, and do what I had to do.”

“I just want to kill it.” “I just want to be good, and I want to do everything I can to make it good.” The singer added.

Likewise, director Calmatic praised Harlow’s performance during a recent interview with Variety. Stating that Jack Harlow blew the filmmakers away with his audition. “He was very committed and got emotional for a scene and took it there, and then once we got on set, it was a wrap,” Calmatic recalled. “His charm from being an artist leapt over to his acting side.”

The director continued, “I’m calling it now.” I feel like 10 years from now, it’s going to be “Jack Harlow, the actor, who just happens to also be one of the best rappers in the game.”

When asked to comment on the director’s praise, Harlow simply said, “It’s high praise.” “I’m trying to decide whether I want that to be the case or not. We’re going to see how things flow.”

He continued: “I will say this, though: when I’m on set, there’s something in me that feels magical and natural, so I’m hoping to follow it.”

Harlow plays Jeremy, a “former star of the game whose injuries stalled his career.” While Sinqua Walls plays Kamal, a “promising player who derailed his own future in the sport,”
