I would like to go into production more and rap – Ayra Starr

Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, widely addressed as Ayra Starr says she fancies dropping some punchlines and bars on future records, as well as being involved in producing her songs herself. She told Accelerate TV in an interview; she is THE COVER of their latest magazine issue.

Ayra Starr was asked “what other areas in music do you want to explore and why”, to which she said production and rap. Why? She explains better: “Probably definitely go into production more, I’m already like doing that and rap, probably one day I can be spitting some bars in my music, you know, just giving you guys some punchlines.” Ayra Starr also added that her being exposed to different environments and cultures while growing up helps in broadening and shaping her view of music and approach to it.

I’m a very adventurous person, I like to enjoy myself. If I’m not doing Afro-funk, I’m doing Neo-Soul. Maybe someday I may just come with a typical Angelique Kidjo/Naira Marley type of vibe, just mixing two different cultures together, so it’d be beautiful” she says progressively, hinting at her ability to diversify musically and come up with new styles of music, experimenting with sounds and genres her artistry develops.
