How Chelsea’s Youngsters Will Benefit from the From The Premier League Rules Under Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard has given Chelsea Players from the youth ranks more minutes than any of his predecessors since assuming his managerial duties at Stamford Bridge. Lampard has seen given debut to Reece James, Billy Gilmour, Mason Mount, and Tammy Abraham had become an integral part of the first team, with a big squad giving many options to manager Frank Lampard.

However, with a big squad comes the challenge of trying to keep them all happy by giving them enough game time and chances to prove their worth.

Chelsea’s fringe players will be pleased to hear the news from the International Football Association Board (as reported by Goal) that when football resumes, clubs will be allowed to make 5 substitutions during the 90 minutes of play.

At the moment Chelsea’s subs are never sure if they will get game time, with a lot depending on how the game is going and also only being able to use 3 subs.

But this change means that Lampard will have a lot more freedom to use more of his players on the subs bench and give them more chances to stake a claim for a first-team spot.

This rule change is due to the pandemic and players being out of football for so long.
