It’s a big year for Nollywood with the debut of several record breaking productions such as Gangs of Lagos, Jagun Jagun and The Black book. But there’s apparently still more to come before the year runs out. Inkblot Productions has released the first trailer for its upcoming Nigerian crime thriller “No Way Through.”
“No Way Through” is a criminal thriller about the expenses of always providing for one’s family and the dangers you take in order to be free. The film’s synopsis reads:
“No Way Through” follows the journey of “Jolade Okeniyi, a single mother of a teenage daughter, who is trying to make ends meet. Jolade’s primary source of income comes from working for the local drug cartel in her neighbourhood as a driver. Jolade is caught by the authorities and forced to inform the cartel. Failure to supply the required information will send both her and her daughter to jail, but the risks of getting that information could see them killed by the ruthless cartel.”
Chinaza Onuzo, the film’s writer and director, created the production based on his screenplay. And it stars several Nollywood veterans and newcomers. This includes the likes of Funke Akindele, Chioma Chukwuka, Chidi Mokeme, Ikechukwu, Seun Ajayi, Nengi Adoki, Jnr. Pope, Roberta Oroma, Eso Dike, and Sheggz Olusemo.
“No Way Through” will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in December. You can watch the new trailer below:
