Eden Hazard Revealed Player Who Convinced Him Signing For Chelsea

Belgian Captain Eden Hazard joined Chelsea on this day eight years ago. Hazard impressed many Blues fans around the world with his famous message of ‘I’m signing for the Champions League winner.’

The ex-Lille star has revealed former Chelsea player Joe Cole played a big role in his decision to move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on his move from the French Ligue 1 side to the Stamford Bridge, Hazard revealed that he spoke to Cole every day before he made his decision to sign for the Blues.

“I spoke to him before I signed for Chelsea. Every day, seriously, he was telling me that Chelsea was the best club for me,” Hazard told Chelsea’s official Twitter page.

“He said Chelsea was a big club where you can trophies every season. For that reason, I signed, so thank you, Joe Cole!”

Cole spent seven years at The Bridge and won three Premier League trophies and two FA Cups.

Joe Cole the former English International, had spells at Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool, Lille, Aston Villa, Coventry, and Tampa Bay Rowdies during his 20-year career.

Hazard went on to become one of the best players to play for Chelsea, he helped the Blues to win two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two Europa Leagues and a League Cup.

Hazard’s last game for Chelsea came in the 2019 Europa League final in the 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal.
