Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) first signed female artiste, Liya (real name – Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola) lets the cat out of the bag, releasing her premier musical body of work, a 6-track extended playlist (EP) entitled Alari.
Since getting signed to DMW, Liya’s released just one single accompanied with the music video in form of “Melo” (which can be heard on the fourth track off of Alari) and since then, she has gradually been building up hype towards her first ever project.
Alari, the EP features no one else except Liya’s label boss Davido on the second song “Lakiroboto”. Davido also acts as the executive producer of Alari.
All tracks are either produced by K Dream and/or Zaki and voiced by Liya’s songbird-like beautiful voice. Speaking on the hardwork put into making Alari, Liya writes: “ALARI (she that is so separate). . . My culture is a huge part of my identity and this EP ‘’ALARI’’captures so much of it, I hope y’all love it as much as I do”.
Her debut EP is encapsulated gloriously through its last track—“Olodumare”. Liya stands out by diving into different conscious subject matter straight from the intro while also switching it up when need be, doing so effortlessly, showing great breath control while crooning high-pitched.
