Teasing his new song Stand Strong featuring American band The Samples two days prior to its release, Davido made sure to note how personal this song is to him as a person first, then as an artiste professionally. “I know you love it when I make you dance, but now I want you to feel. This one is for everyone out there holding it up.”, he writes in one of his tweets explaining how important Stand Strong is to him.
With Stand Strong, Davido is determined to keep fighting his battles as he is very much assured his “steps are guided by Jehovah” God and he will surely come out victorious. He also takes an introspective approach songwriting wise as he details personal woes relating to having people wanting him not to succeed in life but shout outs his support system in the God he serves, his 30 BG family and friends and the strong-will implanted in him.
He calls on American band, The Samples to give the song a churchy feel as they soulfully sing in the background, embellishing the spiritual thanksgiving theme of Stand Strong over the Pheelz-produced instrumental, making for a very uplifting sonic experience.
