Attack on Titan, which debuted in 2013, has now become a cultural phenomenon in the anime community worldwide. But following the start of the final arc of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, the beloved anime has begun to approach its end after a decade-long run.
In March 2023, MAPPA released the Final Season, The Final Chapters Special 1, which IGN called a masterpiece. Since then, millions of anime fans around the world have been waiting for the special second episode with bated breath. But the wait is nearly over, as MAPPA has officially released a new teaser trailer for Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special 2. The new trailer debuted at the MAPPA x Crunchyroll Panel Anime Expo 2023 in Los Angeles. The trailer highlights glimpses of the conflicts to come between Eren Yeager and his friends as well as the emotional toll these events have on all those involved in them.
Further, the episode’s official synopsis reads: “The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to eliminate all who threaten Eldia, he leads an unstoppable army of Colossal Titans towards Marley. Now a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission; the only question is, can they stop him?”
MAPPA also released a new poster alongside the trailer. The poster seemingly depicts a beautiful scene of a cabin in the mountains, but the shadows in the image are hiding something deeper.
The show’s director, Yuichiro Hayashi, had previously commented on the visual poster, saying, “I think that there is something that appeals to the imagination [when] there is nothing.a There are some things that are interesting, but it’s unsophisticated to explain, and it will be a spoiler, so I hope you can expand your imagination and look forward to the [anime’s] final part.”
MAPPA is set to release Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters, Special 2 in Fall 2023, and will unveil the official release date later. You may, however, see the teaser trailer below:
