The 2022 Man of the Year, Asake, has started the new year, 2023, just as he did last year by releasing a single in the first month. This new record is entitled ‘Yoga’, and produced by Asake’s right-hand man, Magicsticks

Yoga gives off a spiritual feel. Asake is heard offering a prayer of protection and good luck to his “Yoga”.

Yoga is a common practice that people exercise to improve their health and aid relaxation. In Hinduism, a level of spirituality is attached to yoga, hence, it is not surprising to hear the star, Asake praying for the preservation of his physical health and spiritual state with his Maker.

In Yoga, Asake begs people with negative energy to stay far away from him as he comfortably enjoys his newly endowed plush lifestyle. “Keep distance if you wan come whine me / Ma lo fa”, Asake pleads.

He also made sure to flex his wealth to whoever cares to listen, “Yoga, yoga / I dey on my away / I dey maya”, Asake says in the hook, complementing it with “Ma lo far / I still balance, I still galant / Alubarika / Bara mi mecca / Para pass para / Alasake tin pa dollar ah-ah” in verse one.

Although Asake brags about his scrumptious lifestyle, he is aware he got this far through the power of God, “Who go dey for you no go take off / Hmm hmm oju tele gan (Oju tele gan) / Modupe, mo thank God”, the singer humbly offers appreciation to the Almighty.

Yoga begins with a traditional chant before the folksy production kicks in. Asake’s vocals are also engineered to match the talking drums, flutes, and keys that encompass the Yoruba traditional ambiance of the song.
