Marvel Studios, which recently completed Phase 4 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has finally released the final trailer for Ant Man 3, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly. The film, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will officially kick off Phase five of the MCU next month. As part of the MCU multiverse saga, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will further explore the multiverse while concluding the Ant-Man trilogy. The film will also formally introduce fans to Kang the conqueror, who will serve as the main antagonist in Phase 5.
This two-minute and 18-second Quantumania trailer, released during the NCAA’s College Football Playoff National Championship, begins with Scott and Hope van Dyne dealing with life after the blip. Scott is shown attempting to connect with his now-adolescent daughter Cassie, who is following in his footsteps. However, things take a turn for the worse when Cassie accidentally creates a Quantum Beacon and is captured by Kang trapped in the Quantum Realm.
To save his daughter, Scott must assist Kang in regaining his freedom. In addition, Quantumania will bring fan favorite villain MODOK to the MCU. A genius with a brain so large that he is characterized by a giant head and tiny limbs, also known as Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. The trailer concludes with Scott clashing with Kang and Modok in an epic battle that will determine the MCU’s future.
This trailer effectively highlights how big of a threat Kang is to our favorite heros and it even goes further to foreshadow Avengers: The Kang Dynasty by stating that the film will “witness the beginning of a new dynasty”. So far, there is no word on where Kang will next appear in the MCU after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will be released on February 17 and will run for two hours and five minutes.
