Alexis Sanchez Reveals What He Didn’t Like About Jose Mourinho During His Time At United

Alexis Sanchez moved from Arsenal to Manchester United in a deal that involved Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the opposite way. Sanchez’s move to Manchester United was much publicized and one but it didn’t go as expected as he struggled for form under Former Coach Jose Mourinho under whom he was signed from Arsenal.

The Chilean has come out to say he didn’t like the way Jose Mourinho destroyed his squad’s confidence at Manchester United.

Sanchez struggled for form at United following his highly-publicized move from Arsenal in 2018, with the Red Devils only seeing glimpses of the man who regularly impressed for the Gunners.

Former United boss Mourinho regularly rotated the Chilean during his time in charge, and Sanchez says this played a huge part in his failure to shine.

“I say things as they are and in my opinion,” Sanchez told the BBC.

“Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world in the way that he coaches, how he studies videos, the way he goes about things.

But then, within the group there was that feeling that you were in the team then out. Sometimes I didn’t play, then I did, then I didn’t and as a player, you lose confidence, each player lost their confidence, do you understand?

Sometimes I’m playing well and I score a goal and he took me off. And I’d say, ‘I love football, I love football.’

“I’ve played football since I was five and if I have the ball taken away from me, it’s as if I lose my joy. I’m like that.”

Sanchez moved on loan to Inter Milan at the start of the season after new United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear he is no longer needed at Old Trafford.

He is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer where he’ll hope to secure a permanent move elsewhere, perhaps back to Italy.
