Disney recently announced some changes to its 2023 release calendar. These changes will see Marvel Studios’ The Marvels debuting in the fall rather than the summer.
That is, the Brie Larson-led film will now be released on November 10 rather than July 28 as previously stated.This move also shifted Disney’s theme park-based Haunted Mansion from August 11 to the July 28 spot.

The Marvels is a sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and will see the return of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. What’s more, she’ll also be joined by two MCU newcomers. Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel, with Nia DaCosta (Candyman) directing.
Fans may already be familiar with Teyonah Parris from her debut outing in WandaVision. While Iman Vellani was arguably Marvel’s breakout star of 2022 for her portrayal of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, With a script by Megan McDonnell (WandaVision).
The Marvels follows the three heroes who find themselves unexplainably connected. They switch places with each other every time they use their powers. This situation was teased in the post-credit scene for Ms. Marvel, in which Vellani’s Ms. Marvel unexpectedly switched places with Larson’s Captain Marvel.
This occurred after Kamala’s mysterious bangle suddenly began glowing, and then she is suddenly teleported away and replaced with Captain Marvel. Who looks around the teen’s bedroom (which features posters of herself) and is perplexed as to how she got there.
At last year’s D23, Disney also debuted the first footage from the highly anticipated film. The sneak peek picked up right after the “Ms. Marvel” post-credits scene. The footage showed Captain Rambeau as an astronaut at the Saber Space Station with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
Where she’s approaching a jump point perimeter, she hits it and transforms into (surprise) Ms. Marvel. They discover that every time they use their powers, they swap places, and now Kamala Khan is in the spacesuit. Fury and Rambeau then head to Khan’s house, where there’s a flurry of action-packed fight scenes in the teenager’s living room.
The change in release date follows Marvel’s announcement that it will reduce and spread out its Disney+ TV.
